Edington Arts Privacy Policy

A new and more wide-ranging set of Data Protection rules (the General Data Protection Regulations, GDPR) enforceable from May 2018 means that we need to fulfil certain requirements around how we gather, store and use, personal information.  Much of this we have already been doing, and consent previously given for data collection and storage under the old regulations is still legal. The new GDPR legislation requires us to be able to demonstrate clearly that we treat your data securely. This Privacy Policy will explain what we do.

What data do we collect?

Edington Arts collects your name and email address through our news and information sign- up form on our website, and your name, phone number and possibly home address, if you telephone or email us for tickets.

How do we use it?

Your data will ONLY be used by Edington Arts to inform you of events or communicate with you about other issues to do with the organisation and its activities, and/or to reserve and deliver your tickets.  We do not sell, trade, share or swap your data to or with another organisation.

How do we store your data?

We can only store your data if you have ‘opted in’ to the process, and we will ask, either electronically or verbally, for your permission before we do so.  Signing up on the website to be added to our mailing list for news is taken as permission from you to store your name and email address for that purpose.

Data gathered via the sign-up form is transferred to our email marketing system, MailChimp.  MailChimp is subject to its own Privacy Shield certification (EU-US and Swiss-US), and once this lawful data transfer is made, we can guarantee that it is being held correctly.

What rights do you have under GDPR?

Under GDPR regulations, you have the right to ‘be forgotten’, and to be able to access your data at any time to object, rectify or remove it.  Options to enable you to do this will be in the footer of every marketing email you receive from Edington Arts, and you can also request the updating or deleting of any of your data by phoning or emailing us using the contact details on our website.

Outbound links

Our website and marketing emails contain links to other websites.   Edington Arts is not responsible for the privacy practices of these and you should read their own privacy policies.
