Advent Concert with the choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge

Saturday 16th December

Time 7.30pm

The choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, are the latest to be taken in hand and developed by Matthew Martin.  It is a mixed choir of around 24 voices, and has already made its mark among the elite university and college chapel choirs in the UK .

This time however, Matthew will not be conducting, for the best possible reason – he is flying to South Africa to get married.  He has handed his baton to Jeremy Summerly, acknowledged as one of the UK’s top choral conductors, and well known to us locally not just through his direction of the Consort during the Edington Music Festival, but from his inspirational workshop for us in 2022 – not to mention his ongoing broadcasting work for the BBC.

Matthew has chosen a wonderful programme of music for Advent and Christmas, Jeremy is on the case, and the choir will be at the top of its game. As ever, there will be mulled wine and mince pies during the interval, and we know you will be treated to a superlative evening of song.  Some of the pieces they will be singing are listed.

£20/15/10, 10% discount for Edington Angels, 18 and under come FREE.
