Advent Concert with the Choir of Jesus College Cambridge: THIS CONCERT IS NOW SOLD OUT

The Oxford Colleges have had it all  their own way so far, so we thought it was time to give Cambridge a chance.   Richard Pinel is the Director of Music at Jesus College Cambridge, and as Director of the Edington Music Festival he was keen to bring his choir to our lovely church for this very special annual concert.

He will be bringing his mixed voice choir of 26 choral scholars and two organists. Under his direction the choir has become a truly outstanding body of musicians, known for their energy, verve, immaculate tuning and beguiling tone.  They have a busy schedule of recordings, tours and concerts as well as their Chapel commitments, and their performance will be another in our series of superb concerts of Advent and Christmas music through the centuries.  As you can see from the programme, there is something there for everyone, and the chance to hear all three of Bach’s great organ works ‘Nun Komm’ as they progress in volume and style is pretty special.  There will be a couple of congregational items too.

Mulled wine and mince pies in the interval as always.
