Jun and Yuuki Bouterey-Ishido

Saturday 21st March 2020

Time 2.30pm

We are delighted to be able to continue our relationship with the global musical powerhouse that is IMS-Prussia Cove.  We have again donated them a concert fee in aid of their bursary programme, and in return are privileged to present two of the stars of the 2019 masterclasses.

Brothers Yuuki and Jun are a cello/piano duo – the first such combination we have presented.  Having won their places at the masterclasses under cellist Steven Isserlis, and pianist/composer Thomas Ades, they are looking forward very much to ‘repaying the favour’ and coming to play for us in Edington.  Both individually and as a duo, these brothers are already making their marks, individually and together,  on concert and recital platforms around the world, and are destined for truly great things.

Their programme will include Beethoven’s Cello Sonata op. 102 no. 2, and Sonata no. 117 no.2 by Gabriel Faure; pieces by Chopin and Bartok will complete a wonderful programe of passion, melody, seriousness and lighterheartedness.  Our first afternoon concert, in March 2019, was a great success and it wasn’t a difficult decision to repeat the exercise! The concert will be followed by a chance to chat to the brothers over a cup of tea and home made cakes.

Tickets are £20 (front nave), £15 (rear nave) and £10 sides.  18 and under come free;  Edington Angels have a 10% discount.  If you buy on the door you will need to pay another £2 per ticket.
