The Britten Sinfonia Wind Trio
Saturday 19th October
Time 7.30pm
The Britten Sinfonia is recognised as being one of the pre-eminent orchestral ensembles playing today. Based in Cambridge, and the only professional orchestra working in the east of England, they are a collective which brings together exceptional musicians, earning both a national and an international reputation.
Three of their Principal wind players – Nicholas Daniel OBE, oboe, Joy Farrall, clarinet, and Sarah Burnett, bassoon – have formed a wind trio, and will perform especially for us. Each has an important and respected career outside the Sinfonia; Nicholas Daniel for example is probably the best known oboist in the country.
They are presenting a wonderfully varied concert, marrying the familiar with the perhaps less familiar. Book early to avoid disappointment!
